ATTENTION PARENTS AND STUDENTS

I have decided to begin online scheduling of lessons to allow you more flexibility to schedule and change your lesson times AND to reduce the amount of time I spend in rearranging and rescheduling lessons.  This will ONLY WORK with everyone's cooperation.  We will try this as a test in July.  Below are the RULES for using Online Scheduling

  1. I will post the Block Schedule(s) when I know what days / times I will be available during that block.
  2. You are allowed to schedule yourself for X lessons per block
  3. When you need to reschedule or change a lesson, please follow this procedure
  4. If you need to cancel  on the DAY OF YOUR SCHEDULED lesson, please call or text Coach Demarco to let him know AND it is your responsibility to remove yourself from the online schedule.  Coach DeMarco will not do this for you.
  5. If you need to cancel or change your lesson at any other time, please do so yourself using the online schedule.  You may reschedule your lesson during any open slots during that Block.
  6. I am treating this online service in the same manner I as have my scheduling book.  We are using a program called Google Documents.  It is an online spreadsheet program that can be modified and edited online.  If I determine that ANY STUDENT is cancelling, erasing, or modifying another student's lesson days/times, severe punishment up to and including immediate dismissal may be the penalty. 

 December 2011 and January 2012 Schedule - please read carefully as there are differences compared to previous months.

  1.  Here is the link to the current online schedule in Google documents. You can either click directly on the hyperlink or COPY this link and paste it into your web browser (Internet Explorer or other program), then hit Enter.  It will bring you to the online spreadsheet

  3. You will see a sign in hyperlink at the Top Right part of the page.  Please click it to sign in

  4. This will take you to Google Docs page where you will sign in.  Please do so with the email address you have provided me to grant you access to the sheet

  5. If you DO NOT HAVE a Google Docs account, please create one with the email address you have provided me for scheduling access.  It is free and only takes a minute or two.

  6. When the online spreadsheet opens, you may enter your last name into the space you desire.  There are 4 openings/time slot

  7. At the top left portion of the page you will see the File Command.  Click on that, scroll down and click the Save button.  That will save your selections.  You may also download or print this file to your computer.

  8. We have encountered two (2) errors thus far:

    A. Temporary Read Error - this occurred on July 7 for several hours.  There was no error on anyone's part-just log back in later and try again.  Here is the link to the Google Help Center for this error:  http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Google+Docs/thread?tid=6ca4168fba912c9f&hl=en

    B. File not loaded - There were a number of times this has occurred.  For whatever reason, the spreadsheet did not load.  Please click the refresh button on your Internet Browser - this should load the document

 Additional Online Scheduling Instruction - May 2011

  1. On the top of the schedule page you will see a banner ad stating Your browser does not support all features of Google Docs. If you are having problems, try Google Chrome.   Dismiss.  Click try Google Chrome.  It will take you to the download page.  You will need to download Google Chrome-it takes a few minutes and is free.  You can choose the button to have this as your default Internet Browser or not.  That is up to you.  Google is trying to force those using Google Documents to use this as the default Internet browser. Dan and I have no say in this other than to complain to Google

  2. The program will install on your computer in All Programs section.  In Windows XP, VISTA, Windows 7, go to Start, All Programs, and select Google Chrome.  The new browser will load. 

  3. Type RocknFire into Google Chrome menu, it will bring you link to the site.  Once you click to reach Scheduling Page, the spreadsheet will open and work as it has previously.  You can then save and close the spreadsheet.  You can continue using Google Chrome as your Internet Browser or close the program entirely and revert to whatever you are most comfortable using-Yahoo, Google, Bing, MSN, etc.

  4. To access online scheduling viewing and editing, for now you MUST be in and use the Google Chrome web browser.  There have been a large number of complaints to Google about this, but for now this is the only way to access the scheduling spreadsheets.
